Parterre Garden at the Arkansas Governor's Mansion
Renowned garden designer P. Allen Smith, conceived of a master plan for the acreage surrounding the Arkansas Governor's Mansion in the historic district in Little Rock. Our role was to assist in designing and detailing the pergolas at the Parterre Garden, the centerpiece of the improvement.
Classically inspired pergolas compliment the Colonial Revival style of the Governor's Mansion and are placed on axis with the symmetrical mansion.
Stainless steel cables were added to the columns to encourage the growth of New Dawn roses to grow up onto the pergolas offering shade and a scented experience as one approaches the fountain.
