Millie M. Brooks Public Library

Wrightsville, Arkansas

Spearheaded by the Central Arkansas Library System and it's director, Bobby Roberts, the project involved inserting a small branch library into an existing shell space at the city center.

The library provides patrons direct access to the entire CALS collection as well as public internet access and a meeting room.

Being mindful of a limited budget, the exterior entrance is fairly nondescript and simple while the interior opens up the existing shell space and inserts imaginative finishes and light fixtures.  The project was successful-- resulting in a large increase in city residents obtaining a library card.
